Glossary

Terms to Know

The essential vocabulary of the indigitall platform, from A to Z.

A

Active Users

A user who can be reached by one of our solutions, either because they have accepted its use or because they are in the database and have not opted out of being contacted.

AI Agent

An intelligent, automated entity designed to manage customer interactions across your digital channels without manual intervention. Unlike basic chatbots, these agents leverage advanced Natural Language Processing (NLP) and Generative AI to understand intent, provide accurate resolutions, and maintain a natural conversational flow.

Anonymous Users

They are unknown users who have agreed to receive our web push communications and are targeted by them.

API

An Application Programming Interface is a bridge that allows different software systems to communicate and share data with each other.

B

Bot

An automated system that interacts with users through messages. There are bots with predefined responses, bots powered by generative AI, and hybrid models that combine both approaches for specific areas.

C

Campaigns

The creation and delivery of messages with a specific goal through any of our channels.

Connector

A prebuilt link that lets indigitall exchange data with an external tool or platform (such as a CRM or e-commerce system) without custom development.

CTR (Click-Through Rate)

The percentage of users who clicked a message or notification out of those who received it, used to measure how engaging your content is.

Customer Data Platform (CDP)

The core system where indigitall centralizes user data to create personalized segments and automated journeys.

Customer Journey

The process of communicating messages to an audience through two or more integrated channels while considering their reactions and behaviors with focus on UX.

D

A link that opens a specific screen or piece of content inside an app, instead of just launching its home screen. It is often used in push notifications to take users straight to the relevant place.

E

Event

A specific action performed by a user (e.g., 'Add to cart' or 'App opened') that triggers a notification or automation.

F

Frequency Capping

A rule that limits how many messages a user can receive in a given period, preventing over-communication and protecting the user experience.

G

Geolocation

Targeting users based on their physical location, so you can deliver timely, location-aware messages and campaigns.

H

Hard Bounce

A permanent delivery failure (e.g., a non-existent email address).

I

In-App Message

A message shown inside your app while the user is active, used to guide, inform, or promote without taking them out of the experience.

Integration

The process of connecting indigitall with your own systems and third-party services, so data and actions flow between them.

J

The visual tool in indigitall where you design and automate customer journeys step by step across multiple channels.

K

KPI

A Key Performance Indicator is a measurable value, such as open rate or conversions, used to track how well a campaign or channel is performing.

L

Live Activity

Provides real-time updates from your app, letting users easily track the progress of events or tasks, offering dedicated spaces for displaying information that refreshes regularly.

M

MCP (Model Context Protocol)

An open standard that lets AI agents securely connect to external tools and data sources, so they can take actions beyond just holding a conversation.

Metrics

The quantitative data points, such as deliveries, opens, clicks, and conversions, that show how your communications are performing.

N

NLP (Natural Language Processing)

The technology that lets AI agents understand, interpret, and respond to human language in a natural way.

O

Omnichannel

A strategy that connects every inbound and outbound channel into one seamless experience, so the conversation continues smoothly as users move between them.

Opt-in

The explicit consent given by a user to receive communications. In Web Push and WhatsApp, this is a legal and technical requirement.

Opt-out

The process by which a user unsubscribes from your communications.

P

Plugin

An add-on component that extends the indigitall platform with extra functionality or a connection to a specific service.

Push

A push notification is a message sent to a user's device from an app or website, typically used to deliver updates, alerts, or reminders, even when the user is not actively using the app.

Q

Quiet Hours

A defined time window during which notifications are paused, so you avoid disturbing users at inconvenient times.

R

RCS (Rich Communication Services)

An upgraded messaging standard for Android that brings rich media, branding, and interactive features to traditional SMS.

S

SDK

The indigitall Software Development Kit is a set of tools, libraries, and documentation that developers use to build and integrate applications with our solutions.

Segmentation

indigitall allows segmentation of audience based on profile, topics/groups, navigation, behavior, events, geolocation, mobile type/navigation, wifi network, and abandonment prediction (churn rate).
